LET US INTRODUCE OURSELVES
Let us introduce ourselves: we are Lexi & Jona – the duo behind Alona Movies.
Our story began long before weddings.
When we both met in 2017, Jona was already recording every little trip he took and started by making advertising clips for small businesses in our hometown.
I then started out by assisting him on his first wedding in Copenhagen Denmark as a second camera and soon, it became clear that working together felt natural.
In 2024, we decided to combine our passions and founded Alona Movies.

What makes us different, is how seamlessly we work as a team. At many weddings, we noticed that photographers and videographers often step into each other’s frames.
But for us, photo and film aren’t separate – they complement each other. We’ve learned how to create side by side, anticipating each other’s movements and capturing every moment without compromise. This means you don’t have to coordinate between two different creatives. With us, you get both – a filmmaker and a photographer – who already know how to communicate and create as one, so you can simply enjoy your day.

Our vision goes beyond simply cutting scenes to a soft piano track. We want to create something unique, something that truly reflects your emotions and story. Every frame is designed to bring back the emotions of your day – the quiet glances, the laughter, the atmosphere – all the details that make your love story unique.​

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Born and raised in Germany, we always had the big dream of moving to the States. After we both finished high school, life gave us the chance to move to the other side of the world. Jona lived and worked near Boston, while I started her job near New York City.
The time apart was tough on us but we spent almost all our money just to see each other as often as we could.
The whole time with us: Jona's first camera!
The camera became part of our relationsship.
We started recording little vlogs of our trips and posted them on Youtube. Our trips brought us to Los Angeles, Hawaii, London and more.

When we moved back to Germany, Jona even started an apprenticeship as a cameraman for a TV production company. I focused on studying business but because of the Pandemic, traveling was not really possible and money was tight, so traveling together and continuing making vlogs ended.
​
As soon as the Pandemic made it possible again I booked a trip to Sri Lanka. With her - Jona's first camera again.
​
This was the time when working with a camera became
a passion for both of us again!
​
Jona learned a lot about the right handling of cameras at his job and I traveled around the world and photographed people from all over the world.​​​​
​
In 2022, the brother of one of our friends asked us, if we could make a wedding film for him. And this was where everything started:
